Finally, a new community worthy of a name synonymous with St. Augustine, “Istoria” from the Latin word Historia meaning History.
An architectural treasure nestled along the scenic Tolomato River off historic US Highway 1 in Northern St. Johns County. Designed to be harmonious with the natural beauty of its setting, the homesites of Istoria vary in size and shape resulting in a layout that provides opportunities for preservation of the wetlands and natural vegetation.
This region has a long-standing history of varying Colonial influences, which are reflected in its unique architectural styles. These colonial influences are the foundation of the two styles of architecture selected for Istoria; “The British West Indies” and its more contemporary cousin, the “Florida or Coastal Vernacular.”
